  • Extensively researched and analyzed new product concepts, including residential and commercial indoor air quality markets, market sizing, competitors’ offerings and literature searches.
  • Co-authored and managed the publication of a 204-page coffee table book on the dog sport of Schutzhund, titled The Sport of Schutzhund: A Photographic Essay. Self-published by BJ Spanos Ink and includes 370 photographs contributed by 26 professional and amateur photographers. Collaborated with the graphic artist on book design. Managed contracts with the graphic artist, printer and fulfillment house. Received a 2008 Award of Excellence from the Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia.
  • Co-authored Proclaiming the Truth, a 255-page, hardbound history of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
  • Produced and edited the proceedings from the Aerias Third Annual National Symposium: Protecting Indoor Environments and Building Occupants. All copies were sold out within six months.
  • Researched and wrote business and marketing plans, including the first formal business plan for the Industrial Engineering & Management Press (Institute of Industrial Engineers) in its 10-year history. Business and marketing plans featured comprehensive product line and financial analyses.
  • Set publishing priorities, project plans, production schedules and budgets for Industrial Engineering & Management Press. Also, obtained editorial reviews and developed marketing strategies and plans for proposed titles.
  • Planned and conducted focus groups to determine customer needs for the Industrial Engineering & Management Press. Negotiated a contract with an internationally known industrial engineering author to be a series editor.
  • Created from initial concept and served as editor of the St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church monthly newsletter. Laid out each issue and oversaw its production.
  • Created from initial concept a bimonthly newsletter for people with rheumatoid arthritis, titled Joint Movement. Contributed articles and directed the newsletter’s design, production and distribution. Circulation grew to 130,000 and was often cited as one of the Arthritis Foundation’s best programs.
  • Obtained sizable grant for the development of the AHPA Arthritis Teaching Slide Collection and Instructional Guide and full funding for the Primer on the Rheumatic Diseases, ninth edition. Also negotiated agreements on rights to publish conference proceedings and foreign language translations.
